Our Mission

WHAT’S OUR GOAL

At Lyndhurst Pre-School we are committed to developing the ‘whole child’ emotionally, socially and physically regardless of their culture, ability or race. We aim to provide a safe, friendly and stimulating environment in which your child is encouraged to explore and discover.
We work to a specially tailored curriculum which is the Early Years Foundation Stage. This aims to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic well-being.

Our staff will train to further their knowledge and understanding of children’s developmental needs and ways in which parents can help their child to learn at home and at Pre-School.  It is our philosophy that purposeful play is an essential part of a child’s learning process and helps them to acquire the skills necessary for a smooth transition to school life.

We believe that purposeful play is a rich and essential part of a child’s learning process. Therefore we aim to provide our children with the opportunity to engage in rewarding and structured play in a wide range of learning experiences. To achieve this we ensure that we fulfil the following practices:

  • To build our curriculum planning around the child rather than expecting the child to fit in with a fixed plan.
  • To base our planning on what the child can do rather than what the child cannot do.
  • To make on-going evaluations and adjustments where required.
  • To provide close links with home and build a constructive relationship with parents and/or carers.
